home hub 3 replacement

Post #1 by pgi947 » Wed Jan 14, 2015 11:03 pm

Evening guys!

I need a replacement infinity capable router for my home hub 3, this thing is bugging the crap out of me, it won't hold ports open, drops wireless on occasion and is becoming difficult to live with.

Looking to spend no more then £100, obviously the less I spend the better but have no idea what or who makes a good router these days.

Ah he'd better get a move on and look at this thread then :P

Have every intention of buying a tp-link archer c7 ac1750 tomorrow afternoon but always up for alternatives.

Was going to go Asus, but I keep reading about overheating and interference issues with them.

Mine was fine, up until the point of needing to do the simple tasks of adding a device to DMZ or port forwarding.

That said though I have been looking for a reason to buy a new router for a while so this was the perfect opportunity :D

Whoops sorry only just stumbled across this! Good choice made with the router though pgi! Excellent price and if you have a spare external drive hanging about you have a simple Nas! :D

I don't have a drive yet...but I will in the near future, just need to see what formats Apple tv amongst other devices supports and work from there :D
