Yip you get used to the habit of looking before any CPUz type benching that you have the latest version.

If you have an unstable OC especially with FSB benching you will get a corrupted save file. Happens :D

They have updated the validation site aswell as the cpuz version and no older versions will work anymore, you have to use 1.73 as darkage said.

Shame as that is an impressive result for the 2160 Nick :/

edit

I think Massman spoke about it in the OC show link u posted

Thank you, Nick. I'll need that for the Skylake set up that's coming today. :D

Shame I can't freeze it (they won't let me)! :(

Well I will have a few CPU's available for the team in the next few weeks. What I am waiting for is motherboards from vendors.

So what do people think of the recent OC esports point integration?? I know some on the bot are against it but i think it will be good as i'd like to do more comps as long as there not all pre 1990 based!
Certainly was a nice suprise to see a little point bump, which i see a few have benefitted from. Still not sure why points have been issued on the current Team cup.

Basically there now adding your 10 best competition scores to your league points, so if memory serves your league points are now made up of,
20 best hardware scores
15 best globals
10 best competion points

So now for the active bencher to be competetive in the higher end of the leagues the competitions will play a big part and for an example i think Dewi gainned about 300 league points in the change which has shot him up! Also you have gone up 18 places thanks to the integration of comp pts :D

Thanks for the explanation Nick

I wondered what had happened I dropped 16 places in my league that was a hard hit as it took over 8 months to move up those places.

I've just been onto the OC E sports site and thought hey great I have a 8800GT and a X1900XTX they're old then read this:

the hardware is limited to socket 3 processors. In the second stage, 3DMark01, the hardware is limited to Voodoo4/5 graphics

I have no idea what a socket 3 is or a Voodoo, I thought witch doctors did Voodoo LOL.

I think I picked up some good points for the Rookie Rumble, but after that I don't really know what competition I could enter. I either don't have the hardware or can't compete.

I've been benching a 6950 and picked up some points and medals, been good fun. Got a 1st place tonight and was well chuffed!

Basically socket 3 was a socket that came out before I was even born in 1991, it was one of a few that you could use Intel, AMD or Cryix CPUs on, the most famous CPUs on the platform are generally the intel 486 series.

If you don't know who 3DFX and Voodoo are then it's worth a google, total legends of their time producing cards that were so far ahead of the technology curve that they actually ended up not being so good, hard to explain but picture 4 GPU chips on 1 PCB ;)
