BF 5 may be released in 2016

This is seriously not funny anymore.. not that it ever was. The EA money machine is in full swing. Although they say they have pushed this back because forthcoming releases of hard line and Star wars not to mention the continued support of 3 and 4, you can't tell me this isn't one of their priority developments. With all these projects running simultaneously, it's no wonder their products are falling short of standards.

BF4 was released for a whole year and EA claimed that we were (us gamers) were beta testing BF4 for them. Now I got early Alpha access as well as Beta access and I chuffed up nearly £100 for BF4 and the expansions.... How can that be right? I am more than happy to pay for something that works fine or even has the odd bug but this wasn't the case and still isn't.

Paid 90 quid for bf3, a game that took over a year to become playable. But bf4 has been a farce, every update just breaks something else. The retail game feels like a beta, yet the CTE which is there to test new features is a much better game. But tbh with dice/ea at the helm there's no such thing as common sense. Luckily I didn't pay as much for bf4.

Bf4 came out in October 2013. BF5 is scheduled for release xmas 2016. I dont see what the problem is? cod gets released every year which you can accuse of being a cash cow. But 3 yrs between Battelfield I think is fine. I wouldnt want it any longer. I will be itching to play a new BF by then

I'l be itching for more BF in 2 years time that's for sure, lets hope they have a proper release and not just rush it out because of competition from COD and attempt to fix it later. Surely they have learnt the hard way this time with the flak they have received, but knowing EA it will be a repeat, sigh :(

Same here, the gameplay rarely becomes as good as it was in BF3. Used to have good pilots/gunners in BF3, that rarely happens now. Most people take the heli and just fly it high and bail out to camp on some rooftop.

The teamplay was better in BF3. Had alot more fun with BF3.

I am not such an online gamer but BF3 was much better to me. I can't put my finger on why either but it just had more appeal for some reason.

I'm miss the HK G3 in BF4.

Don't know why they put in all these wierd and unknown weapons. No AK-47, damnit

3 and 4 were poor IMO and many reviews agree.

They need to get a good long SP in 5, but many think BC3 will be better and I did like BC2 at launch (apart from mouse issues that took hacks to fix) but played in in DX10 then later on a DX11 GPU.

I do not like MP gaming and remember when great games were all about great long SP campaigns not MP and selling you DLC. ;)

Funny how this "Pre Alpha" video look better than final BF3 and 4 does.

For me personally, BFBC2 (the so called console game) was much better than bf3 or 4. Rush in particular being my stand out mode. Hard to explain but it just felt much better. Conquest in bf3 on most maps was dominated by jrts/helis with no effective countermeasures. Then in bf4 they nerfed the aircraft to the extent that theyre useless. DICE never seem to get balance right.

I think all the bad press and rough launch and problems have taken away too much from what is now an absolute fantasic beautiful game.
If you are a true Battlefield fan, that means all the glory of 64 man conquest it is quite something to just open your eyes and, soak up how amazing this game looks, and just how many epic things that can go on in a game. No 2 games are ever the same.
My friend and I been teaming up again in 64 man conquest, and we always been a pretty mean tank team, him driving me gunning/ spotting/ repairing. we can go whole games with hardly a death and rack up so many kills. same in the little bird. This game becomes so much better when you can work together in a team and see what you can achieve. Battlefield 4 is an amazing game and it is truly genre defining.
I think it has just become fashionable to slate the game or blame bad play and mistakes on things like netcode and not realise just how much work has been done to improve the game. The game runs pretty solid now I have no issues. While i know it should never of had the issues its had and maybe for some people there are still a few problems the amount of people playing again tells you just how good this game is.

AFAIK BF4 is still classed as full of bugs and performance issues going by my reading.

There is no doubt its overrated and dumbed down from BF3.

Couldn't disagree more. I have 718 hrs invested into BF3 and 570hrs into BF4 and while I still think BF3 is a great game BF4 is certainly not a dumbed down version of BF3 in anyway shape or form. Nor do I find the game riddled with bugs or have any trouble with how the game runs. Battlefield pushes the genre of what is achievable in an FPS. Its easy to create a multiplayer fps 8v8 but creating all out war with up to 64 players now that is not easy which is why no1 else has done it

Fair points Jay and it has been running pretty decent for me for a few weeks (hope I didn't just jinx myself). My gripe is the length of time it took to sort and that shouldn't happen on such a big AAA title and the cost of it. It isn't alone though and check out a couple of the latest UBI games to see some bugs/issues.

I loved BF3 mind and it was you who got me into online FPS's. I still enjoy a blast on Nosha Canals 32 man TDM :D

I played BF4 again on my temporary Rog Swift so only a few weeks ago and had no issue nor did I have issue at launch but that is not to say it was not a bugfest for a long time for many as I know I read that nearly ever week on forums etc and still see comments on OCUK about it and this inc comments by peeps in this very thread.

I still play BF3 also Greg infact in my clan we still play the rush maps. Metro rush max 12v12 on BF3 is still for me one of the most fun maps to play and god knows how many hrs we have racked up on that map and mode.
I think with BF4 The blame lies with EA rather than DICE. DICE make awsome games, and at least they put a whole team on fixing the game and even bringing in the CTE for the community to help fix and further improve the game. How many companies would have done that? Im glad you got into online FPS I still remember when I 1st got you playing BF3 and coming on TS you loved it haha :)

BF3 was released October 2011 BF4 was released October 2013 and BF5 set for around same time in 2016. I think that is a big enough gap to make to keep people excited about the franchise without pumping out yearly releases like COD. But Battlefield Hardline is out in march with a fresh Idea. It might not be for everyone but those who like the Infantry side of Battlefield this should be right up your street. Then xmas 2015 Dice release Starwars Battlefront. So I would say They have new games and ideas coming. I really hope starwars is gonna be good
