X99ish.....

Post #1 by WhitePaw » Sun Oct 12, 2014 12:18 pm

Hello, update from me..

Picking up the last component this Friday,, memory

Do you guys think it will be fast?

Subze0 cooling

The fan stand is not mounted on the motherboard, i moved it to the bench tray instead (more stability, and a more solid mounting..), the fan are heavy..

Build still kinda bits and pieces, but will be ready on Friday..

Cheers

I am pretty sure it will be fast. How are you enjoying the MSI board?

Its a GPU waterblock,, Supremacy VGA

For running a GPU, its only strapped up there temporary

so i can use almost any VGA card out there for benchmarking, just remove the card stock cooler, and mount this block (without breaking the loop.. swap, swap..) pitstop

it only take a couple of minutes to mount, and outperform a fullcoverblock, more economical, also better for avoiding condensation issues when going subzero, and easy to insulate

Ive also got more of these VGA blocks, so if i want to run a crossfire, i just add a block in the loop

But main focus is on single GPU setup

I might just do that Paw, they are a whole lot cheaper to buy than some of the others. Only concern is megahertz for megahertz efficiency against other boards.

use it as your 24/7 board?

Design wise i think its one of the most attractive boards ever made/well made, and mine will find its way into a 24/7 setup after 6 month or so..

the EK thumbscrews come with 2 different inner properties (depending on the cpu block kit), just wanted to share this, so you dont mix springs and thumb nuts from different block kits ( i dont think many know this )

Nut ver Z tighten harder than ver Y

If you check your short short 2011 studs, you can see 2 makings on them short/long, well you can see now since yours are mounted ... :D :D

BTW> Yes socket is upside down.... :D :D :D

Thanks bud, the 5820's are superb, fantastic for the money.
Thinking of getting rid of the banchetto test bench, it looks the part but as its all made of acrylic it bends from the weight of the gpu's/blocks which is warping the board, makes it awkward too when switching out gpu's.

Cpu block is a full Nickel Evo, its a nice block.

The flowplant

a good flow 120mm rad is being used for the System, when chiller is turned off

When chiller is tuned on, the rad fan is killed with the switch down there

i dont insulate the tubing today, i did in the past.. The chiller load temps improves very much, if the tubing is insulated..

But like you say Nick> Its a matter of pride also
