Newbie help please

Post #1 by geordie77 » Wed Nov 30, 2016 5:09 pm

My 16yr old son for Christmas wants a new graphics card. I need to try and get from PC world (not ideal) as i've been saving for Christmas with Love to shop. I ordered a Nvidia Geforce GTX 960 SSC for £143 and went to collect from the store few weeks back and they've lost it and no more in stock. I've complained and they will give me 10% off my replacement. I'm willing to spend up too £200.
My sons PC has AMD Athlon X4 860 3.7ghz quad core, A88XM-E35 (MS-7721) board, Windows 64 bit ,AMD Radeon R7 200 series, Ram 4037 DDR3. I ordered this PC from Germany for him for last Christmas so no idea if specification is okay. The games he mainly wants to run are "Ark" and "The Isle" both on Steam.
The one's i'd looked at on PC world this morning are below but want to make it will fit his motherboard and unsure if one of these will do or one of the other off the P.C. World website. I've bought 16gb (pair of 8gb DDR) memory on Black Friday.
Any chance someone could look on PC World and suggest what i should buy?
Any help would be much appreciated.

something like this would be perfect http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing ... 9-pdt.html it would suit the Athlon 860k to a T, anything much higher would be a waste imo as would be held back by the cpu so wouldn't get the best out of it, if you go for the 1050ti try to make sure you go for the 4gb ram version as its better in the long run than the 2gb version
skylake i3 6320
msi x2 armor gtx 970 4gb
8gb ram
windows 10

The 1050ti should be fine what Syks has linked...Glad you have bought some more memory, 4gb is never enough to play games like Ark,which hog up alot of memory..
