Well guys what do you think of 11GB and 352bit Memory bus? my old brain doesn't like it, it seems odd, I am sure its awesome just not settling with my scaling knowledge of which there is only a rudimentary coverage :)

Well, held off from upgrading my 980ti to 1080 but the 1080ti has has made my mouth water. I'll be going for a custom card come June but can't make my mind up out of the Zotac amp extreme or the EVGA FTW3, I know it's over £650 which would have been my limit but as I will not be looking to upgrade again till Volta ti I'm taking the plunge and gonna go skint for a long time.

Finally got the Zotac 1080 Ti Amp Extreme and what a beauty it is, boosts to 2000Mhz out the box and stays there, no dropping down after heavy use so I'll not bother overclocking it. The RGB lighting software that came with it on disk doesn't work so a quick download of the latest version soon got it sorted. It has three lighting zones that can be changed to any colour that takes your fancy so you can have different colours for each zone if that's what you want.

I was a bit miffed as to why the fans kept spinning up every 2 minutes or so when the card was idling as its fans were not supposed to spin until a load was put on the card then I realised I had prefer max performance enabled in NCP so changing it to optimal power kept the core clock down to a minimum and the fans fell silent and still. It's one of the most expensive 1080 Ti's out there but I wanted max clocks without a manual overclock, Kinda wish I'd gone for a Gigabyte Aorus Extreme addition as it's only a little slower out the box and I could have saved a few quid but what's done is done and I frigging love the Zotac. Well recommend this card if you got the dosh to spare. Word of warning though, the card is fooking huge and takes up nearly three slots, also needs two 8 pin pci-e power connectors, but the huge heatsinks sees the temps of this card stay really low, I set my fans to 80% and you can hardly hear them and it kept the card at a mega cool 55c when stress testing. I'll never go back to a reference blower again.

Now to save for a mobo / CPU / Ram upgrade later in the year before volta Ti drops ;-)
