I just bought one of those and justified the price because I'm on my 3rd or 4th H100i as the collars on the end of the tubes keeps cracking. I started with a H100 that the pump failed on and Corsair upgraded me to the H100i which has now been rma'd n replaced a few times. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the Predator.

If you do decide to get one I would stick with the stock fans as they are a pita to remove because they use tiny hexagonal head screws that are 2 different lengths. If running 115* cpu you need to remove the cpu locking mechanism to swap the stock backplate too. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EKWB ... 240/4.html

Cheers guys. The predator is nice but indeed pricey. Still got to get shot of my 4790k setup, so that would help cover the cost. I think on X99 you have to remove the socket cover bit too.

According to the manual it's just 115* that you need to use the back plate with but there are some compatibility issues with the narrow 2011 socket. You have to buy the mounting hardware separately at the moment I think they're going to include it soon.

My msi board has its own back plate along with the socket retention part. To fit my k2 air cooler I had to buy a set of screws to hold the cooler bracket. The standard bracket has holes fir 775, 115* and 1366. But the latter has different threads.

Cheers chap, I've not done any stress testing but gaming loads are a good 10c lower and it's much quieter than the H100i with push/pull.
