Hello all,
Completer forum newbie here so wanted to introduce myself & ask for some advice at the same time.
A PC gamer for years I finally took the plunge & built my own 2 years ago, specs as follows:
CPU: Intel i5 4460 3.20Ghz
Motherboard: MSI H97 Gaming 3 LGA1150
GPU: EVGA 2 GB GTX 960 SuperSC
Memory: 8GB Hyper X Fury (2 x 4GB)
1st HD: Samsung 120GB 850 EVO SSD
2nd HD: WD 1TB HD
Power supply: EVGA 600W Bronze
Having never done anything like it before I was surprised at how (relatively) straightforward it was. I enjoyed the process & was really pleased with the result. However I'm now thinking of upgrading, specifically the graphics card but possibly the CPU if necessary.
I have a couple of Samsung 24” monitors with FreeSync (60Hz), so I'm thinking AMD, possibly RX480/580 ?
Games like Witcher3/Planet Coaster/Cities Skylines are (for the most part) perfectly playable but do you guys think I can get any noticeable improvement by upgrading ? Or even is it worth it with this setup ? Maybe wait until I can afford a complete high-end build ?
Apologies for the long intro but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Hello souldriver...
Going from a 960 to a 580 RX with 8gb vram would be a nice little upgrade. I think you can pick one up for around £250-80...
I think your cpu chip is locked, so you can't overclock it to get extra performance out of the chip.It should still be fine to play game's at 1080p..

OverFienD,
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, RX580 seems the best bet. Going to see what I can pick one up for this weekend & look into upgrading CPU in the New Year.
Thanks again
